Your Next Lead Magnet Should Answer Back

Most content sends people to a book-a-call form and most of them leave. This free skill sends them to a 5-question intake instead, hands each one a custom report in seconds, routes the lead to your sales team, and runs a 14-day follow-up on its own. Copy it below.

Most content sends people to a book-a-call form, and most of them leave. This skill sends them to a five-question intake instead. Each person gets a custom report in seconds, their details land with your sales team, and a fourteen-day follow-up runs by itself. You fill in four fields. The skill does the rest.

Why the usual funnel leaks

Watch what happens when a good Reel sends someone to "book a call." A second ago they liked the idea. Now they are staring at a calendar asking them to give a stranger thirty minutes. Most close the tab. The interest was real and you lost it at the door.

A webinar or a VSL asks for even more. Sit here for forty minutes first, then we will talk. The people who most need what you sell are the ones with the least time to sit still.

The report-style lead magnet flips the order. You give first. The prospect answers five short questions about their own situation, and a few seconds later something written for them lands in their inbox. No generic PDF that could have gone to anyone. By the time they finish reading it, your sales team already has their name and their answers, and a follow-up sequence is already moving.

We run this to sign our own clients, and we hand it to clients so they can sign theirs. Here is the whole thing, free.

# AI Lead Funnel

> What this does (in one line): A prospect sees your Reel, clicks, answers 5 questions, and a custom report lands in their inbox while their details are routed to your sales tool and a 14-day follow-up starts on its own.

## Before you start: fill these in

These are the only things you need to provide. Everything else is automatic.

| Fill in | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| YOUR_OFFER | One line on what you sell and who you sell to | "Bookkeeping for trade businesses doing $1M-$5M" |
| THE_5_QUESTIONS | The 5 things you want to know about a lead, tuned to your offer | "Revenue band, biggest bottleneck, timeline, current tool, role" |
| SALES_INBOX_OR_CHANNEL | Where new leads should land for your sales team | A Slack channel, a shared email, or your CRM |
| FROM_EMAIL | The address the report and follow-ups send from | you@yourcompany.com |

> If you do not have one of these yet, the skill will tell you exactly where to get it the first time you run it.

## What you need installed

- Claude Code or Claude Desktop (this is where the skill runs).
- A place to host a simple form page. A free Lovable account works, or any form tool that can send its answers somewhere (Tally, Typeform, a Lovable-built page).
- An email-sending account you control (your normal inbox is fine to start).
- Somewhere to drop the lead. A Slack channel, a shared email, or a CRM you already use.

## How to use it

1. Put this SKILL.md where your agent looks for skills (in Claude Code: a skills/ai-lead-funnel/ folder, or just paste this whole file into a new chat and say "follow this skill").
2. Fill in the fields above.
3. Then just tell your agent: "Build my AI lead funnel for YOUR_OFFER."

## The workflow (what the agent does)

1. Read YOUR_OFFER and THE_5_QUESTIONS. If the 5 questions are missing, the agent drafts 5 that fit your offer and asks you to confirm.
2. Build a simple intake form page with those 5 questions plus a name and email field. Keep it short. The shorter it is, the more people finish it.
3. Write the personalization logic. For each combination of answers, the agent prepares a short custom report that speaks to that exact situation. Not a generic PDF. It pulls from your offer and the lead's answers.
4. Wire the form so that when a lead submits, three things fire at once:
   - The lead gets their custom report by email from FROM_EMAIL, in seconds.
   - The lead's name, email, and answers post to SALES_INBOX_OR_CHANNEL so your team can reach out right away.
   - The lead is tagged with a segment based on their answers (for example: tier, pain, timeline).
5. Set up a 14-day follow-up sequence. Each email is built around what the lead told you, with a different track per segment. Plain value, no pitch-spam. The agent writes the emails and schedules them.
6. Test it end to end with a fake submission. Confirm the report arrives, the lead shows up in your sales channel, and the first follow-up is queued.
7. Hand you the live form link to drop in your bio or content. Built once. Runs forever.

## If something goes wrong

- The report email never arrives: check FROM_EMAIL is verified to send and look in spam. Send one test to yourself first.
- Leads are not showing up for sales: confirm the form is actually connected to SALES_INBOX_OR_CHANNEL. Submit a test and watch the channel.
- The report feels generic: your 5 questions are too broad. Make them specific to the decision your buyer is making, and tell the agent to write a distinct report per segment.
- Few people finish the form: cut a question. Five is the ceiling, not the target. Make the reward (the custom report) clear before they start.

How to run it

Fill in the four fields, then tell the agent "Build my AI lead funnel for my offer." It drafts your five questions if you left them blank and asks you to confirm before building anything. Once it is live you get a form link to paste in your bio or under your next post.

What you get back

  1. A five-question intake form tuned to your offer, short enough that people finish it.

  2. A personalized report per lead, written from their own answers, sent within seconds. Not a template with their first name pasted in.

  3. Every lead posted to your sales channel or CRM the moment they submit, so your team calls while the interest is still warm.

  4. A fourteen-day follow-up sequence built around what each lead told you, with a separate track per segment.

  5. One skill running the whole chain. You install it once and it keeps working after you close the laptop.

If you also sell into a named list rather than to inbound traffic, the LinkedIn version does the reverse: it finds your exact buyers first and builds a magnet for each name. This one waits for them to come to you. That one goes and gets them.

The mistake that makes it fail

Broad questions. If your five questions could have been asked by any company in your industry, the report reads like it was written for any company in your industry, and the whole trick dies.

Ask about the specific decision the buyer is weighing. "What is your biggest bottleneck this quarter" beats "What are your goals." Then tell the agent to write a genuinely different report for each segment, not one report with a few swapped lines. The reason people put in their real numbers is that they can feel the reward getting more personal. Take that away and they type junk to see the download, and junk is what your sales team calls.

One honest limit. This turns interest into a routed, nurtured lead. It does not close the sale. A person still has to pick up the phone. What it buys you is that the phone rings while the lead is still paying attention, instead of three days later when they have forgotten you exist.

Do this today

Write your five questions. Just the questions, on one line, before you touch the skill. If you cannot make them specific to your buyer's decision in ten minutes, that is the real work, and the skill cannot do it for you. Get those right and the build is an afternoon. Get them wrong and no amount of automation saves it.
